

Alicia Sewell
Owner / Teacher
Alicia dreamed about being a dancer from the time she could walk and started dancing at the age of 7. Alicia trained through the BATD for Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Stage, Modern, Acro, Cheer, as well she trained with the CLRG in Irish Dancing. Alicia competed in Jazz, Modern, Tap, Musical Theater for 9 years and Irish dancing for 20 years.

Alicia has had the pleasure of dancing on CTV Morning Television, 2010 Winter Olympics, FAT Toronto and Cogeco to name a few. In 2010 Alicia competed in the Northeast Irish Dance Championships and ranked 5th, qualifying for Worlds. This has given Alicia the opportunity to travel and compete in international competitions.

Alicia Believes in providing the best dance experience possible to her dancers so she continues her dance education by taking classes and workshops all over Canada. She has had the pleasure of training in Toronto, Mississauga, Kingston, Vancouver to name a few places. She is certified with Membership level with the BATD as well as being Acrobatic Arts certified. Alicia has happily travelled across Ontario teaching at different studios to spread her love of dance with others, She has also worked at a handful of dance competitions and dance conventions giving her the in and outs of the dance industry so she can provide her dancers with real life knowledge.

Alicia also believes in supporting her community. She has Volunteered her time with the VIQ for their fundraiser Dancing with the Stars Quinte, Trenton Scottish Irish Festival, Dreams for dancers, as well as community events such as parades and community shows. Alicia has also won Top Leaders under 30 award in Quinte in 2017/2018, as well she was chosen to be featured in Hello Boss Girl in 2019.

Barbara Yebuga
Teacher - Hip Hop
Barbara (aka Miss Barb) brings the perfect blend of rhythm, fun, and confidence to every class! A lifelong dancer inspired by icons like Michael and Janet Jackson, Barbara first hit the stage as the captain and choreographer of Wilfrid Laurier University’s dance team, “Kaos.” She’s since trained at top Toronto studios, including the Toronto School of Dance Theatre, Toronto School of Burlesque, and OIP Dance Centre, mastering styles like hip hop, dancehall, afro fusion, and urbanesque.
Barbara’s not just a dancer — she’s a vibe. With experience in performance, competition, and community arts, she uses dance as a tool for education, empowerment, expression, and straight-up joy. Her teaching style is high-energy, inclusive, and focused on helping kids feel like the stars they are.
Whether it’s their first time dancing or they already live for the beat, Barbara’s classes are a safe, supportive space where every child can grow in skill and confidence — and have a blast doing it!

Jasmyn Muir
Teacher - Ballet/Acro/Jazz

Jasmyn Muir grew up immersed in the world of competitive dance and has been teaching at Astounding Heights Dance Academy since 2022. She trained through the British Association of Teachers of Dancing (BATD) and currently holds her membership with Acrobatic Arts.
Jasmyn has a deep passion for teaching both recreational and competitive classes. Her choreography has earned multiple awards, and she’s especially known for creating age-appropriate, original routines that showcase her dancers' strengths and creativity.
She’s proud to be part of Dancing with the Stars Quinte, where she serves as a coach. Though this is her first year instructing with the event, she’s both excited and grateful to contribute to such a meaningful experience.
Outside the studio, Jasmyn enjoys spending time with her family and relaxing with her beloved dogs. Her warmth, creativity, and dedication make her a valued member of the Astounding Heights team.

Madison Hughes
Teacher - Tap/Musical Theatre

Madi has had a love for music and movement her whole life. She began dancing as a child and quickly developed a passion that turned into long hours at the studio. Madi enjoys all styles of dance, but tap holds the key to her heart.
​
After a childhood full of dancing, Madi decided to continue her journey with Astounding Heights. With experience in teaching recreational dance classes through the municipality, Madi is excited to start this new chapter and bring her passion for dance to the Astounding Heights team. She is most looking forward to being a positive role model at the studio while helping her students shine with confidence!

When she is not at the studio, Madi enjoys using her creativity with various art projects and spending time with her dogs.
